Bütgenbacher Hof

A little paradise in the midst of unspoilt nature

Hiking holidays in the Ardennes

One of Europe’s most beautiful natural regions right on the doorstep -walking routes from the hotel

Dense forests, vast moorlands and the unique landscape of the High Fens alternate with peaceful valleys, rivers and small villages. East Belgium is one of the most beautiful natural regions in Europe. In spring, the meadows along the Warche are covered with wild daffodils. In autumn, the forests of the Ardennes fill with colour. More than 1,350 km of walking routes surround Bütgenbach, all clearly signposted and suitable for every level, including dedicated nature trails.

Circular walks around Lake Bütgenbach - Bütgenbacher Hof

Circular walks around Lake Bütgenbach

One of the most popular walks starting directly from the hotel is the circular route around Lake Bütgenbach. The 10 km trail is well signposted, easy to follow and leads through varied landscapes along the water’s edge.
Those looking for a slightly longer walk can choose the Sonnenseite route with views over Lake Bütgenbach or the Warche tour between the lakes of Bütgenbach and Robertville.
Almost a must in summer and a real challenge in winter: for many walkers, a jump into the cold water is the refreshing finale to the tour.
